Complainant Name:
Ms Josephine Quintavalle of CORE (Comment on Reproductive Ethics)

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: The Daily Telegraph

Ms Josephine Quintavalle of CORE (Comment on Reproductive Ethics) complained that an article had inaccurately suggested that its court action against the HFEA (Human Fertilisation and Embryo Authority) was focused upon a particular case in which a family were seeking to select a test tube baby with the correct tissue type to treat their ill son rather than a point of general principal. In fact, the case was a judicial review of a policy decision of the HFEA.

The newspaper undertook to amend its library records to reflect the distinction. A subsequent article on the subject incorporated some of the points raised in the complaint.
