Complainant Name:
Mr Thomas Palmer

Clauses Noted: 3

Publication: Sunday Express

Mr Thomas Palmer of London complained that an article included details of his financial situation and thereby intruded into his privacy. He was also concerned that the article portrayed his aunt, Tessa Jowell, as mean and could have led readers to believe that he had spoken about her to the press.

The newspaper stated that it had not intended to cause Mr Palmer any difficulty or embarrassment. However, it apologised if any was caused and stated that it had no plans to republish the material. The newspaper placed a suitable notice on its cuttings file to that effect.

Report: 62
