Complainant Name:
Kate Beckinsale

Clauses Noted: 1, 3

Publication: Daily Mail

Kate Beckinsale complained through Campbell Hooper solicitors of London that an article about her private and professional life contained a number of inaccuracies and intruded into her privacy. She contended that the piece was an unpleasant and unnecessary personal attack and in particular disputed the claim that she had recently spent time in a clinic.

The matter was resolved when the newspaper published an apology based on an understanding that the claims it had made were inaccurate and incorrect, and had caused distress and embarrassment to the complainant.

Report: 63
