Publication: The Guardian

Mr Patrick Harrington of Edinburgh complained that the newspaper had incorrectly suggested in an internet column that he had been expelled from the RMT for joining under a false name. In fact, he used his married name which was subsequently recognised by the Union and is now fighting the expulsion as being contrary to natural justice.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper which had based the piece on a RMT press release, which made the allegations attached a clarifying comment from the complainant to the piece.
