Tony Adams of Goffs Oak complained that a story describing an apparent break-in at the home of his daughter and her husband (Victoria and David Beckham) was inaccurate.

The newspaper explained that it had not intended to cause any distress to the Beckhams and it agreed to mark the story on its library system as not to be republished or syndicated. The concerns of the complainant in relation to the storys alleged inaccuracy were also appended to the newspapers library file and third party databases were notified to remove the story from their libraries. In addition, the editor of the People wrote personally to the complainant to apologise for any distress caused.
