A man

Clauses Noted: 1, 3

Publication: The People

A man complained that an article had inaccurately alleged that he had engaged in a sex act with two other people. The complainant made clear that such an allegation was categorically untrue, as the encounter had only involved him and one other person.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper, which indicated that the information had been provided by one of the parties, and not challenged by the other, undertook to annotate its records with the complainant’s denial and to ensure that the article was removed from its website and any third-party database.
