Gerald Jones of Wandsworth Council complained that an article about a couple and their two severely disabled children was misleading because it accepted the couples account of their family life uncritically and failed to give due weight to the role of the Council in supporting the children.

The newspaper published a clarification which made clear that Wandsworth Council had provided the children with carers and had financed their care and special school arrangements to the sum of 123,000 per year. In addition, it made clear that the Council had offered regular respite care to the parents.
