Complaint:
Mr Peter Webb of Sunderland complained that an article was inaccurate in its description of a man, who had been taken to a mental hospital against his will, as being ‘caged’.

Resolution:
The matter was resolved when the editor acknowledged that the headline was inaccurate and insensitive. He indicated that he had spoken to the sub-editor concerned and the Chief Sub-editor and had issued PCC guidance on the subject to his journalists.
