A woman from Rugby complained that an article, which reported details of a court trial, provided sufficient information for her daughter to be identified as the victim of sexual abuse.

The matter was resolved when the editor of the newspaper wrote directly to the complainant to apologise profusely if any reader had identified her daughter from the article. He indicated that the newspapers ongoing coverage of the trial would be completed with the minimum amount of further detail.
