Complaint:
Ms Eileen Dempsey of Glasgow complained that the magazine had suggested that her son David had died having suffered acute ‘excited delirium’ as a result of taking cocaine. Although this theory was postulated, it had never been confirmed and was not mentioned in the Post Mortem examination.

Resolution:
The complaint was resolved when the magazine amended its records to clarify the position and undertook not to use David Dempsey’s name again in connection with drugs.
