Mr Merrick McDonald of Staffordshire complained that he had been approached on two occasions by a journalist from the newspaper, even though he had made it clear that he had nothing to say. After his original complaint was made Mr McDonald said he was contacted by another reporter from the newspaper.

The matter was resolved when the newspaper confirmed that the third visit had not been carried out by one of its journalists. The managing editor provided an assurance that the complainant would not be contacted again regarding the matter in question.
