Mr Roger Knight, MCC’s secretary & Chief Executive, complained that the newspaper had failed to apologise for reporting – in its ‘Sports Agenda’ column – inaccurate claims about, first, MCC ticket office staff providing under-the-counter Ashes tickets to touts and, secondly, MCC employees having been “caught out in a previous ticket probe”.

The complaint was resolved directly, in advance of any PCC investigation, when the newspaper published an apology.
