Publication: The Mail on Sunday

Mr Louis High, Head of Communications and Campaigns for Scope, complained that newspaper coverage of the changes in the charitys policy and practice was inaccurate. In particular, the suggestion that the charity had decided to stop providing residential care to become a campaigning organisation was misleading. The shift in policy, in fact, was towards enabling disabled people to live independently in the community, while continuing to provide services for them.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper published a letter from the complainant, and placed on file a document the charity provided outlining key facts about its policy and practice.
