Complaint:
Mr Leonard Pearce of Fife complained that he had been named in an article after he had explicitly asked that he was not identified.

Resolution:
The complaint was resolved when the editor wrote a private letter of apology to the complainant giving an undertaking that he would take the matter up personally with the news agency concerned. The complainant accepted this as a means of resolving his complaint but made clear that he remained unhappy with the newspaper’s conduct.
