Complainant Name:
The Rt Hon David Blunkett MP

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: The Sunday Telegraph

Complaint:
The Rt Hon David Blunkett MP complained about an article which reported that a BBC crew had attempted to film him delivering presents for the son he has with Kimberly Quinn. He contended that the piece was inaccurate when it said the newspaper 'understood' that the crew had been tipped off about this activity by 'friends' of Mr Blunkett. Mr Blunkett disputed that the event reported had ever taken place.

Resolution:
The newspaper published a statement which read as follows: 'On December 26 2005 we reported that a BBC crew had attempted to film David Blunkett delivering presents for the son he has with Kimberly Quinn. We said it was understood that the crew had been tipped off about this activity by his friends. We have been asked by Mr Blunkett to make clear that his friends were not responsible for any tip off'.

Report: 71
