Complainant Name:
Mr Keith Fisher

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: The Observer

Mr Keith Fisher of Oxford complained that an article was inaccurate in its contention that the Law Lords had ruled that the detention of foreign terror suspects without trial was unlawful.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper published a correction explaining that the Law Lords had found that the Anti-Terrorism Crime and Security Act 2001 was incompatible with the European Convention on Human Rights, but that the declaration of incompatibility did not affect the validity of the Act.

Report: 71
