Complainant Name:
A woman

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Hackney Gazette

A woman complained that an article had inaccurately represented the trial of her son. Specifically, she contended that a knife had not been produced as soon as the defendant saw the victim. Moreover, the article had not mentioned that the complainant had been found not guilty of two counts of wounding with intent and two charges of unlawful wounding.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper published a follow up story making clear that the defendant had been cleared of a number of charges and that he had been acting in self defence at times.
