Complainant Name:
The De La Salle Order

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Sunday Mail

The De La Salle Order complained through McSparran McCormick Solicitors and Notaries that an article had inaccurately claimed that Donald Shine was a De La Salle teacher. In fact, Mr Shine had never been a member of or employed by the De La Salle Order.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper published the following correction:

Our article of June 18 headlined Sex claims teacher to face quiz described Mr Donald Shine as a De La Salle teacher. We have been asked to point out that Mr Shine has never been a member of the De La Salle Order, nor has he ever been employed by them. We are happy to correct the position.
