Complaint:

Mr Mark Gibson of Alston complained that an article published on the newspaper’s website had inaccurately claimed that cash receipts totalling £30,000 were seized from his home. In fact, the court heard that receipts were found in the home of Marcus Davies.

Resolution:

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper published the following statement on its website:

An agency report on 6 December ‘Trio deny cannabis chocolate bars conspiracy charges’ suggested that cash receipts totalling £30,000 were seized from the home of Mark and Lezley Gibson. In fact the receipts were seized from the home of Marcus Davies. We are happy to set the record straight.’
