Steve Oliver, Managing Director of Music Zone, complained that an article in the newspaper which reported on a Russian website which allowed illegal downloads had in effect provided a free advert for the website. He claimed that the site was distributing music without any permission from the artists and was therefore illegal.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper published the following letter from the complainant allowing him to set out his position:

Your article Why were all Russian to iTuneski published on October 18 featured a Russian-based website that has the potential to ruin the music industry by providing access to artists tracks whilst not paying royalties to the artists. As the head of national entertainment retailer I feel that it is incredibly important to remind your readers that buying entertainment goods from unofficial sources such as this site prevents investment in the artists that provide us with the music we love. I would urge all Sun readers not to spend any money with this site. Steve Oliver, Managing Director, Music Zone
