Complaint:

Mrs Ball of Folkestone complained that an article about a prize won by her 12-year-old daughter contained intrusive information about where she lived.

Resolution:

The editor apologised to the complainant and offered his assurances that he had learnt a lesson from the episode and had subsequently informed his staff to keep ‘geography’ more general in stories involving children.
