Mr Jonathan Tribe, Managing Director of Influenza Protection Ltd, complained that an article about the organisation contained inaccurate and misleading information.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper which offered to publish a clarification in response to the complaint sent the organisation a private letter which accepted that the article required clarification on two points: the claim that the World Health Organisation had taken legal measures against the organisation, which was incorrect, and the indirect quotation of a company spokesman stating that Influenza Protection had stocks of Roches antiviral drug Tamiflu for sale to companies. On the second point, the newspaper accepted that the organisation had never held, bought or sold Tamiflu, but rather arranged for supply of the drug to companies through licensed third parties. The newspaper regretted any difficulty the article had caused the company and removed the article in question from its website.
