Tom Williams of Manchester complained that the magazine had published a story about the murder of his daughter and son-in-law without his permission. He said a work colleague of his granddaughter Ė the only survivor of the arson attack Ė had recognised her from the article, which had been extremely distressing.

The editor expressed her sympathy to the complainant and his family for the tragic events that had occurred. She said that she had been unaware of the complainantís unhappiness with the publication of the article and sought to explain the circumstances in which publication had occurred, apologising for the evident distress that had been caused. The magazine also offered to make a donation to the burns unit at the complainantís local hospital. The complaint was resolved on this basis of the editorís response.
