Michael Fuller, Chief Constable of Kent Police, complained that the newspaper had inaccurately suggested that his force had relaxed its policy towards couples engaged in outdoor sex and were looking to set up unofficial safe havens to accommodate them. This was not true: a draft policy was circulated to deal with the issue of people using a local area as a meeting place and not engaging in illegal activity.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper published the following apology:

"In an article headlined Carry On Dogging carried in the Friday June 29 edition of Daily Sport, it was claimed that Kent Police had relaxed its policy towards couples engaging in outdoor sex. This was wrong and was based on inaccurate information given to us by an outside agency. We also apologise to Kent Police Chief Constable Michael Fuller for attaching his image to this article and for any embarrassment this might have caused him."
