Complainant Name:
Ms Jasmine Lennard

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Star Magazine

Ms Jasmine Lennard, the model, complained through Swanturton solicitors that an article inaccurately alleged that she had been refused entry to the VIP room at Chinawhites Marine Connection party. In fact, there was no VIP room at the event and so she could not have been refused entry to it. In any case, the owner of Chinawhite subsequently made clear to the PCC that Ms Lennard was his guest and therefore enjoyed VIP status at the club.

The complaint was resolved when the magazine published the following apology:

We were wrong to claim that model Jasmine Lennard was not allowed into the VIP section of Chinawhite at the Marine Connection Event last month, as we reported in Guest List Gossip on 7th May 2007. We accept that she enjoyed full privileged access to Chinawhites throughout the evening. Sorry for our mistake, Jas slapped wrists for us!. This was published before the complainant had an opportunity to approve the text, which was a cause for some concern. However, the complaint was still resolved on the basis of the apology.
