Ms Coleen McLoughlin complained through Halliwells solicitors that an article had inaccurately claimed that her parents had received death threats. It also wrongly stated that she was concerned about her security arrangements.

The complaint was resolved when the magazine published the following apology:

Further to our edition of 25‑31 August, we have been asked to point out that the parents of Coleen McLoughlin have not received any death threats. Ms McLoughlin is very happy with the arrangements in place to ensure the security of her and her family. We regret any distress caused and are happy to clarify this matter.
