A woman from Oxford complained that the newspaper had published a photograph of her children, bicycling through flood water. She considered that this was a breach of Clause 6 (Children) of the Code, as the photograph had been taken without parental consent and clearly involved the childrens welfare.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper immediately sent a private letter of apology and acted to ensure that the image would not be republished.
