Complainant Name:
Andrew Sceats

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Woman's Own

Complaint:

Andrew Sceats of Shropshire complained that an article reporting a readers experience of Hopi Ear Candling included the incorrect suggestion that ear wax was drawn from inside the ear canal and deposited into the ear candle. The complainant said that the magazine had initially agreed to publish his letter pointing out the inaccuracy but that it had not then appeared.

Resolution:

The magazine explained that it had had every intention of publishing the complainants letter but, due to human error, it had not done so. The magazine therefore published the complainants letter in the next available edition. The complaint was resolved on that basis.
