Publication: The Times

Complaint:

David West, proprietor of Hey Jo nightclub and Abracadabra restaurant in Mayfair, complained that an article had inaccurately described Hey Jo as a “lap-dancing club”. In fact, he clarified that Abracadabra was a restaurant serving traditional and rare breeds of meat and Hey Jo was a state of the art nightclub.

Resolution:

The newspaper said that it had removed the reference to “lap-dancing” club from the online version of the article and corrected all its database versions. The newspaper also published the following clarification. The complaint was resolved on this basis.

Clarification

The owner of the Hey Jo Club in Jermyn Street, London, has asked us to make it clear that his establishment is not a lapdancing club, contrary to our report ("Four new sites named in Litvinenko trail", August 17).
