Complainant Name:
Ms Jacqueline Sharp

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Scottish Daily Express

Ms Jacqueline Sharp complained that an article based on allegations made by her ex-boyfriend portrayed her as a prostitute and vice worker when she was, in fact, neither of those things.

The matter was resolved when the newspaper published the following correction:

On April 23rd, 2007 we published a story based on an interview with Mr Mark Stewart of Leith, Edinburgh. This story may have implied that Ms Jacqueline Sharp from Edinburgh was working as a prostitute. It has subsequently been drawn to our attention that Mr Stewart has retracted his allegation and apologised to Ms Sharp for any distress and embarrassment he has caused to her and her family.
