Complainant Name:
Michael and Carol Sullivan

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Sunday Mirror

Michael and Carol Sullivan complained about a published interview with Mrs Sullivans nephew, the actor Sid Owen. In the interview Mr Owen attributed the following remark to Mrs Sullivan: It was because of her poor diet that your mum died. Mrs Sullivan disputed absolutely ever having said such a thing. (Mr Owens mother died of cancer.)

The matter was resolved when the newspaper agreed to mark its electronic cuttings database with a note saying that Mrs Sullivan disputed part of the article and that any future reference should be referred to the legal department.
