Complainant Name:
Richard Baker

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Daily Mirror

Richard Baker complained from Broadmoor that the article had inaccurately suggested that Ian Huntley had forged a bond with him in jail. He said he had met Ian Huntley in the gym on a few occasions but they had certainly not forged a bond. The complainant also raised concerns with the description of him as Britains worst rapist making clear that other prisoners had been convicted of more offences than him.

The newspaper defended the claims in the article but agreed to annotate the newspapers records to reflect that Ian Huntley had not, according to the complainant, forged a bond with him and that Andreou Pedro Anthia and Antoni Imiela had more convictions for rape. The complaint was resolved on that basis.
