Complainant Name:
Ms Samantha Osborn

Clauses Noted: 1, 3

Publication: Daily Mirror

Ms Samantha Osborn of Bristol complained that an article about her and her partner, written from the perspective of her mother, was inaccurate; particularly in relation to a statement that she had run away to her partners house and had subsequently been tracked down by the police. Ms Osborn also contended that the article intruded into her privacy.

The newspaper defended the article but the matter was resolved when it agreed to remove the piece from its website and to request that it also be removed from databases with which it had reciprocal arrangements. In addition, the newspaper marked its library files with a note setting out the complainants concerns.
