Complainant Name:
A woman

Clauses Noted: 9

Publication: Daily Record

A woman complained that an article had named her, her baby and disclosed her profession when reporting that her husband had been arrested and charged with downloading child pornography.

The newspaper argued that the marital status of the accused was genuinely relevant to the article. However, it agreed to remove the article under dispute from the newspapers website and undertook neither to identify the complainant or her son in any future articles (unless a new material consideration arose) nor to identify her profession. The complaint was resolved on that basis.
