Jan Curry of Ipswich complained that an article had misled readers to believe that they needed a satellite box in order to get a signal after 2012. This was not the case as householders could receive a digital signal through a free view box.

The newspaper accepted that the article was unclear and publishe Remove Formattingd a letter from the complainant to clarify the point. The wording of the letter was as follows:

You reported a third of people in the UK do not realise they need a satellite box to keep receiving a TV signal after 2012. In fact they will be able to receive digital television, by a satellite box and will also be able to receive a terrestrial digital TV signal with a set top box.

Jan Curry, Ipswich, Suffolk

The complaint was resolved on this basis.
