Publication: Take a Break

Ms Niki Michael of Southgate complained that an article about her daughter Maria who had cerebral palsy as a result of contracting meningitis as a baby had contained her full name and partial address. The complainant made clear that she would not have given consent for the article to be published in its current form had it been read to her prior to publication, something she had been assured would occur. She was concerned that her childrens privacy and security had been invaded.

The complaint was resolved when the magazine made a donation to The Meningitis Trust.
