Complainant Name:
Mrs D Honey and Mrs M White

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Top Sante

Mrs D Honey and Mrs M White complained about a favourable review of an oxygen facial which led them to book appointments for the treatment. However, they found that the cost of the treatment was higher than had been suggested, that they were told that 5-6 treatments were necessary to see the benefits and that they were unable to see any positive results on themselves.

The magazine emphasised that the review necessarily contained that individuals subjective experience of the treatment she had received. However, the editor emphasised that she valued greatly the views of the magazines readers and made a contribution to the cost of the treatments received by the complainants. The complaint was resolved on this basis.
