Mr Tony Seaton of Southampton complained that a comment piece was inaccurate when it stated that “40 per cent of motorists are on the road without a tax disc”.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper – which had explained that the 40% figure stemmed from a House of Commons Committee of Public Accounts report – amended the online version of the article to reflect revised government figures showing that the evasion rates in traffic for motorcycles was 6.5% which rose to 9.8% in regard to active stock.
