Complainant Name:
Mr Lawrence Forrest

Clauses Noted: 5

Publication: The Daily Telegraph

Mr Lawrence Forrest of Ormskirk complained that an online article which reported the death of his friend, pilot Michael Warren, intruded into his grief. In particular, the complainant was concerned that the newspaper had published an image of Mr Warren who had died during a flight to Cyprus seated in the cockpit of the aircraft after his death.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper which removed the image immediately after a complaint had been received on the day apologised for the error of judgement and agreed that it should never have been published. A private letter of apology was then sent to the complainant in order that he might share it with members of Mr Warrens family.
