Mr James Morgan of Peterhead complained that an article about his health was inaccurate and misleading when it stated that his wife, after searching on the internet, had found the surgeon who would go on to perform a successful life-saving operation on him.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper removed the article from its website and published the following letter from the complainant:

Your article of 4 November 2007 stated that my wife Alison had searched the internet to find a heart surgeon willing to carry out life saving surgery on me after two surgeons had refused owing to the risk. In fact, the heart surgeon Ciro Campanella was found due to the hard work and dedication of the Liver Transplant Team at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and, in particular, Ernest Hidalgo, my liver transplant surgeon. I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank them for their efforts without which I would not be alive today.
