Complainant Name:
Pineta Park Hotel (Marmaris, Turkey)

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: The Sun

Mehmet Ayhan, Vice President of the Pineta Park Hotel in Marmaris, Turkey, complained that an article which reported the comments of a couple who stayed at the hotel recounting an incident between a waiter and their son contained inaccuracies.

The newspaper explained that it had obtained comments from the travel company prior to publishing the couples account. However, it was happy to publish the following letter setting out the hotels position on the incident:

Following your report of an incident involving a waiter at the Pineta Park Hotel Marmaris, Turkey (Aug 19), I would like to make clear we value our British guests. This incident was fully investigated by myself and my staff and I am satisfied no violence was involved.

Future guests can be reassured this is not an accurate reflection of the standards and service they can expect to receive.

Mehmet Ayhan, Pineta Park Hotel, Marmaris, Turkey

The newspaper also removed the online article. The complaint was resolved on this basis.
