Complainant Name:
Mr Ian Ilsley

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: The Daily Telegraph

Complaint:

Mr Ian Ilsley complained through David Price Solicitors & Advocates that an article about his proposed rescue of Silverjet was misleading when it stated that Marine and Aviation Services Ltd, of which he was a director, had “shareholder funds of £100 but owed creditors £20,687 in the year to December 31, 2006”.

Resolution:

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper published the following clarification:

'Following our article “Silverjet saviour’s companies show late filing and losses” (12 June) we are asked to point out that in the year to 31 December 2006 the accounts of Marine and Aviation Services – of which Ian Ilsley is a director – showed fixed assets of £20,787 and creditors of £20,687. Mr Ilsley says he was the sole creditor’.
