Mr Peter Panayiotou, Director of Brown Chauffeur Hire, complained that the newspaper had published an interview with a driver who wrongly claimed that the company lost clients and went into liquidation. The company had not lost the clients claimed and was not (and has never been) in liquidation.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper, which had used the information, in good faith, published the following apology:

In an article about joblessness (16 October), it was stated that Browns Chauffeur Company went into liquidation. We accept that this is incorrect and apologise to Browns for the misunderstanding."
