Complainant Name:
Mickey Morris

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Daily Star

Complaint:

Mr Mickey Morris complained that an article had inaccurately claimed that he had said that his son Lee, a paratrooper, felt safer fighting in Afghanistan than in his previous job as a male stripper.

Resolution:

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper published a clarification in the following terms:

“Lee Morris

On July 28 we reported that paratrooper Lee Morris ceased to be a male stripper to join the Army and had found that stripping at hen nights was scarier than fighting the Taliban. These comments were attributed to his father Mickey. We are happy to make clear that Mickey Morris did not make the comments and that they are incorrect. We apologise to Lee and Mickey Morris for any embarrassment our article may have caused.”
