Complaint:

Anthony McGill of Monaco complained that the newspaper had failed to report the outcome of an action for defamation to which it had been party.

Resolution:

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper published the following statement:

“Football agent, Anthony McGill, recently raised a court action against the Scottish Daily Record over an article which suggested he had been involved in ‘tapping up’ Celtic’s Artur Boruc and set up the transfers of Shaun Maloney and Stilian Petrov to Aston Villa. In consequence, the newspaper withdrew the statements and apologised to the complainant, and agreed to pay £15,000 damages and the costs of the action”.
