Complainant Name:
A woman

Clauses Noted: 6

Publication: London Paper

A woman complained that the newspaper had published a photograph of one of her daughters who was not identifiable in the picture standing on a frozen pond. She was concerned that the photographer had asked the children to stand on the pond for the photograph. The caption suggested that they had merely been observed playing.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper accepted that the photographer had asked the girls to carry on doing what you were doing before, and therefore suggested that they return to the ice on the edge of the pond. It made clear that they had previously been on the ice of their own volition. However, it sent a private apology to the complainant.
