Complainant Name:
Ms Naomi Wimborne-Idrissi

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: The Daily Telegraph

Complaint:

Ms Naomi Wimborne-Idrissi of Jews for Boycotting Israeli Goods complained that an online article about the event Bethlehem Now: Nine Alternative Lessons and Carols for Palestine, held at St Jamesís Church, Piccadilly on 26 November 2008 was inaccurate and misleading when it claimed that the service had been criticised by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams. In fact, the office of the Archbishop had informed the complainant that Dr Williams had made no comment on the event, nor did he intend to do so. The complainant had wished for the newspaper to publish a letter on the matter clarifying the position.

Resolution:

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper removed the article from its website.
