Publication: The Sunday Telegraph

Ms Jenni Murray, the radio presenter, complained that a diary piece had inaccurately suggested that she was fearing for her future on Radio 4. She made clear that there was no substance to these rumours and that the BBC had indicated this to the journalist in advance of publication.

The complaint was resolved when the diary carried the following item:

In December, I reported rumours which, happily, turned out to be erroneous that Jenni Murray, who has been a stalwart of Woman's Hour for 22 years, was the latest to fear the axe at the corporation. I am delighted to report that the 58-year-old presenter is in fact currently in the process of renewing her contract with the BBC. The news will please friends of the much-loved Yorkshirewoman, who has successfully fought against breast cancer.
