Mr George Galloway, MP for Bethnal Green and Bow, complained that the newspaper had reported that some of the Mumbai terrorists were British Pakistanis, despite the rejection on the same day of any such claims by the British government.

The newspaper argued its coverage had addressed the issue of whether the terrorists might have been British, and had outlined the basis for raising this possibility. The coverage had also reported Gordon Browns assertion that the British Government did not have knowledge of any UK suspects. The complainant accepted this explanation as a resolution to his complaint.
