Complainant Name:
Sir Paul McCartney

Clauses Noted: 1, 6

Publication: Daily Mail

Sir Paul McCartney complained about a column piece by Amanda Platell, which referred to his daughter Beatrice. It inaccurately suggested that Beatrice had been asked to approve the living arrangements of her father and his girlfriend. It was headlined by an unflattering reference to Beatrice.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper removed the article from its website, made an undertaking about future content and sent a private letter of apology to the complainant. It accepted that the term in the headline was inappropriate and would not be reused.

Report: 78
